Originally a day nursery for working-class women in the city center, it was and still is a kindergarten, elementary school, day care center, dispensary and boarding school for children aged 3 to 12. 

Did you know that the Gare Maritime, which could accommodate a dozen trains on its 4 hectares of covered space?
Part of one of the first multimodal platforms, for the first time in history it combined the functions of customs collection, warehousing and rail, water and road transport on a single 37-hectare site.
